Oak Heart Farm is a queer and woman-owned farmstead creamery in Maine’s Highlands that breeds registered dairy goats and makes their delicious milk into a variety of fresh and aged cheeses. Our goats are raised with a species-appropriate lifestyle, meaning minimal interventions and emphasis on “friends, forage, and freedom.” They live in one herd with many mother/daughter pairs! We rotate the herd as much as possible on a diverse mix of forage and strive to follow their natural desires as goats during handling, fostering calm (they love snacks and hugs). Oak Heart Farm is not certified organic due to inaccessibility of OG feeds and because we want to treat our girls when illness occasionally occurs. However, we are always looking to increase use of organic and/or Maine grown feeds. Per Maine State licensing, all dairy products are tested free of antibiotic residue.
